Gerry van Lieshout is the mother of the Dutch writer and poet Ted van Lieshout. She appears in much of his work, as well as the documentary made about him in 2012.

A documentary about the Dutch artist and award winning children’s author, Ted van Lieshout. He takes a risk. He is not only working on his first novel for adults, he additionally chose for a very controversial subject. In this novel “My Mister” an autobiographical story, he describes a radical and comprehensive event from his childhood, namely his relationship as a 10 year old boy, with a 29 year old man. During the production of “My Mister”, van Lieshout gives Arno Kranenborg the opportunity to come close during this laborious process and the discussions with family and friends.
