Biography
Sergio Benvenuto (Naples, 1948) is an Italian psychoanalyst, philosopher, and writer. He was a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies (ISTC) of the CNR in Rome. He is Professor Emeritus of Psychoanalysis at the International Institute of Depth Psychology in Kiev (twinned with the University of Nice). He founded (in 1995) and edited the European Journal of Psychoanalysis.

He soon grows restless and enrolls at the University of Siena to study literature before dropping out of school to study classics on his own.
