It covers the first three weeks of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a time when life was split into “before” and “after” and the problems of strangers became personal. The film is built on video diaries that recreate the experiences of Ukrainians in different wartime conditions — under shelling, in occupation, in bomb shelters, and in forced emigration. The project is based on documentary and artistic texts, poetry, interviews, and chronicles.

As the gas approaches their 502nd-floor apartment, it becomes a refuge for the Neighbor, the Cat, the best Friend, and the Burgomaster. They grapple with the catastrophe’s causes, their relationships, and art’s significance as the gas rises.
