Biography
Hanna Gunilla Marklund, born 26 November 1977 in Skellefteå Landsförsamling, Västerbotten County, is a Swedish former footballer. She played during her career for Sunnanå SK and Umeå IK; with the latter team she won three Swedish Championship titles and two UEFA Women's Champions Leagues. From 1997 to 2007 she played for the Swedish national team and achieved a best of silver in both the European Championship and the World Cup. In 2005 she received the Diamond Ball as the best female footballer of the year, and in 2005–2007 she was named the best defender of the year at the Football Awards. Hanna Marklund ended her active playing career in 2010. Currently (2025) she works as a football commentator for Sveriges Television.
