In a small, narrow-minded provincial town, we find undertaker Vilfred Kierkegaard, who runs the town's funeral home together with his young orphaned nephew, Mike. But in the provinces, everything moves a little slower, and the same goes for deaths. The funeral home is on the verge of bankruptcy, and Mike's involvement in the local amphetamine trade only creates more problems.
