Darya Markina was born in 1990 in Vyksa (Russia). She graduated from the Moscow School of New Cinema. Now she is studying at the school of Gonorovsky’s script. She is a beginning director and sctiptwriter. One Day is her student film.

Every escape starts somewhere. Sasha's starts with a rubbish bin. Fleeing her husband's abuse, Sasha sets off for the very edge of the country — to Teriberka. The long road teaches her absurd but necessary lessons: how to 'rescue' the non-suicidal, how to coax stubborn cars, how to flee 'antelope hunters', and above all — how to find and accept help in the most unexpected places. But the longed-for sea reminds her: to build a new life, she must reclaim what matters most.
