Andreas, as the owner of a semi-central building in Athens, intends to give it away in exchange for compensation, but the building houses a nightclub owned by Stefanos, who is strongly opposed to this. Since Stefanos knows that Andreas won't marry Fani unless he marries his sister Vasso first, he tries to seduce her.
